The Paint Playground Experience is now open and ready for you!

 

Inside this special room you can paint anything, but your goal by the end is to have created a perfectly messy masterpiece to take home.  Explore various techniques on the canvas including throwing paint from the paint brushes, dripping paint with pipettes, and even paint with our squirt guns!

 

Finished with your canvas? Get another or just paint the walls or furniture!

Best of all, you don't have to clean anything up when you're done!

(Except yourselves...if you decide to get messy...)

Here's what to expect:

​

Step 1: Select your experience time from our booking page. All available times are shown.

​

Step 2: Give us some info, including how many people will be in your group. You will have the room to yourself, and the more the merrier! A maximum of 12 kids or 8 adults (or a mix) is recommended, though max size is flexible beyond that. At least 2 participants required to book a time. No need to contact us unless your group size changes by 3 or more participants, so we can plan appropriately.

Step 3: Pay a $20 deposit to hold your time. This is a non-refundable deposit that goes towards your final bill. If you and your friends or family need to split your bill, whoever paid the deposit gets the money back towards their final bill. If you need to reschedule your appointments, please give us 24 hours notice or you will need to place a new deposit to book another appointment.

When you arrive:​

Check-in is inside The Craft Lab Gift Store. Come early to shop! When it's time, your host will greet you and walk you over to our Paint Playground space. They will help you get ready, pick your canvases, and show you all the fun ways you can paint! You'll pay at the end of your experience, for whatever you decide to do. 

 

Admission Fees:​

Admission is per participant and includes a canvas, a poncho, safety glasses, and 45 minutes in The Paint Playground. ​Due to our recent expansion, opening our second Paint Playground room, we no longer have an area for observers. Each group participant must pay a fee. Small children must be accompanied in their room by an adult they are with.

Ages 2-12: ​

Small canvas (10"x10" or 9"x12") = $19.99​

Large canvas (16"x20" in black or white) = $26.99

 

Ages 13+

Small canvas (10"x10" or 9"x12") = $29.99​

Large canvas (16"x20" in black or white) = $36.99

 

Extra canvases can be added on at any time during your experience.

Small extra canvas = $5 each​

Large extra canvas = $15 each

 

Boxes

are available to transport wet canvases.

Small boxes = $1.25 each​

Large boxes = $1.50 each

We have designed a special "Helper" admission, for people who bring small children or someone who may need a little extra help. This fee is $10 and includes a poncho to wear. The helper may paint walls and have fun with their little artist. We ask that the adult respects our policies and lets the young artist paint their own canvas, and if the adult wants to paint one that they pay a full admission fee.​

Here are a few FAQ's:

​

• ​​Don't wear your favorite clothes, but don't stress too much over it either. We use washable, non-toxic tempera paint. This experience will only be as messy as your group chooses to make it. You'll also receive a plastic poncho with your admission fee, which catches most of the paint. 

• Safety glasses are provided and required, but you are welcome to wear your own glasses if you have them. Toddlers and children with swim goggles may bring those to wear, if they prefer.

• Socks or bare feet only, no outside shoes allowed. This makes it easier for our floor cleaning routine, and avoids you tracking washable paint wherever you go. That being said, you will get paint on your feet. (You'll likely have paint on more than just your feet, if you choose!) So we like to emphasize it is washable.  

• We will take photos for you! The group may select one participant's phone to be deemed the camera phone, and our staff are happy to snap before and after photos for you, as well as some candid's during your experience. 

• Clean up is a breeze. We supply plenty of baby wipes and paper towels to clean you up after your experience. It's tried and tested, so no worries. But you'll likely need a shower or bath that night. ​​

• We do accept walk-ins when we aren't booked in advance, during gift store open hours. In fact, our system won't even show you whether or not we are booked within 3 hours of RIGHT NOW. So if the store is open and you're feeling spontaneous, call or swing in and find out if it's your lucky day! If not, get on over to our booking page already! :)

• You'll pay at the end of your experience, and are welcome to shop afterwards as well! We feature over 40 different local vendors in our gift store, with gorgeous handmade jewelry, home decor, drinkware, and other great gift ideas. We also offer a variety of craft kits you can take home!
